Alfonso Cervera
SF FACTS/SUMMER AUG. 2023
RP : Retinitis pigmentosa, is a rare, inherited degenerative eye disease that causes severe vision impairment, often beginning in early childhood. Cervera's work places his family at the forefront as he archives and revisits shared moments with Maria Casanova and Denise Cervera's lived experiences. Through movement-based explorations, Cervera attempts to acknowledge past events and bring awareness to his family's disability.

CDC - Fest June 2023
Choreography by Paige Calderera & Alfonso Cervera. A new duet that premiered at CDC-Fest in Orlando Florida. Explores the relationship and sharing between two movement practitioners from different cultural backgrounds.
UWM - Spring Dances 2023
The Dance Department at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee welcomes guest choreographer to create new work on students from various backgrounds. Cervera premiered a new work that used Poc-Chuc techniques and methodologies.
Presented under Evoke Productions. "Una Noche Suave" premiered at Full Tilt May 2023 under the direction of Alfonso Cervera in Seattle, WA. The work blended hybridized forms where the dancers took the stage creating scenarios from queer intimacy to the night club.
